What is Bit Bolt Lab?

Bit Bolt Lab is a browser screw-out puzzle set in a magical gravity workshop. Tap exposed coloured screws to send them into active three-slot crates; inactive colours wait in a five-slot tray. Remove every pin from a layered metal, wood, or glass plate and it tumbles away to reveal the hardware underneath. A twelve-level vertical slice, atomic undo, hints, and a separately versioned save make the new mechanism safe to learn.

How to play Bit Bolt Lab

  1. Tap any fully exposed screw to remove it.
  2. Use Undo to restore the last screw, plate, crate and tray state together.
  3. Use Hint to pulse one safe pin, or unlock one spare tray pocket.

Tips

  • Watch which two target crates are active before filling the waiting tray.
  • A plate falls only after its final pin is removed.
  • Colour and glyph stay paired, so the puzzle remains readable without colour alone.

What to notice on your first run

Only fully exposed screws can turn. An active matching crate accepts the screw immediately; otherwise it waits in the bounded tray until that crate reaches the front. The opening levels show one plate at a time, then the workshop layers different materials so every final pin creates a clear drop-and-reveal payoff.

Why this mechanic works in a short session

Each removal has an immediate mechanical payoff, but the board remains small enough to understand after a quick pause. A wrong route can be undone atomically, a hint exposes one safe screw without solving the board, and every unsupported plate visibly falls out of the stack. The result is a quiet logic loop with crisp mechanical wins rather than a long tutorial burden.
