What is Idle Factory?

Idle Factory is a browser merge-and-factory game about a small production line you can watch work. Merge identical Machine Cores, deploy them into the Press and Assembly, and follow raw blanks until they ship as crates. Each crate adds Cash to a pile at the Dock; collect it, buy more Cores, and fix whichever station is starving or backing up. A helper robot, BOLT, takes over collection once it becomes a chore.

How to play Idle Factory

  1. Drag one Core onto a matching Core to merge them, or tap one and then the other.
  2. Drag a Core into the Press or Assembly socket to put it to work.
  3. Tap the Cash Pile at the Dock to collect, then buy Core crates and fixes for the slowest station.

Tips

  • A Waiting lamp means a station has nothing to work on; Full means the next station cannot keep up.
  • Put your strongest Core where parts are piling up, not where the line is already idle.
  • Activate BOLT once collecting the Dock gets in the way of merging.

What to notice on your first run

Nothing on the line works until a Core is in the Press. Merge the two starting Cores, drag the result into the Press socket, and watch the first blank travel through every station to the Dock. Cash only appears there, as a pile of coins, when a crate actually ships — so if the wallet is not moving, look at the line, not at a timer.

Why this mechanic works in a short session

Every station shows whether it is Working, Waiting for input or Full because the next station is too slow. That turns each visit into a quick diagnosis: find the station that is holding the line back, spend on the fix that relieves it, and see the queue clear. Offline progress is capped and stops when the Dock’s Cash Pile is full, so coming back to collect and fix one bottleneck is always worth a short session.
