What is Bop Scrapworks — Recycling Factory?

Bop Scrapworks is a free browser recycling-factory game by BopBits. You steer a hard-hat utility robot that carries loose bottles to a hopper, watches them ride a conveyor into a sorter and compactor, and ships the pressed bales through the dock for cash. Full buffers back up the line, stray tires can jam the sorter, and cash pays for a bigger bin, a faster belt and a harder press.

How to play Bop Scrapworks — Recycling Factory

  1. Drag anywhere on touch devices to steer the robot with the floating joystick.
  2. Use WASD or the arrow keys on desktop. The robot picks up, feeds and ships on its own when you stand on a pad.

Tips

  • Ship bales before the output bin fills: a full bin stops the press and the whole belt backs up.
  • Empty the reject crate by the sorter before it fills, or the next tire jams the line.
  • Stand on the sorter pad to clear a jam: the robot pulls the tire out and the backlog surges through.

What is Bop Scrapworks?

Bop Scrapworks is a 3D recycling-factory game. A small utility robot in a yellow hard hat runs one recycling line: a waste pile, an input hopper, a conveyor belt, a sorter, a compactor that presses plastic bottles into bales, and a loading dock. Every bottle is a real object on the belt, so you can see exactly where the line is starving and where it is backing up.

How to play Bop Scrapworks

Walk the robot into the pile to fill its green bin, then stand on the hopper pad to feed it. The belt carries the bottles to the sorter and on to the compactor. When bales drop into the caged output bin, carry them to the pallet by the dock to sell them. Stand on a floor pad to spend cash on an upgrade.

Bottlenecks and jams

Each buffer on the line holds only so much. If you stop shipping, the bin fills, the press stops, the sorter holds and the belt queues all the way back to the hopper. Old tires turn up in the waste: the sorter drops them into a reject crate, and when that crate is full the next tire wedges in the sorter mouth. Stand on the sorter pad to clear it and watch the backlog rush through.
